This artwork has been framed and with me for over 20 years. I still remember the first time I saw it.
I was driving to Santa Cruz with the love of my life at the time- he was an artist and always had random art magazines. I thumbed through one and found this image and it spoke volumes.
It captured everything I felt at the time and to this day still resonates with me.
There are no words to explain it. It brings tears to my eyes each time I see it for it continues to reach the depths of my soul.
I pray you find perfect beauty in it as I do. That you see beyond the armor, the wounds & the deep scars. I pray you see that there’s strength in vulnerability. No matter what war you’re fighting, I pray you always have a safe place to retreat to seek refuge and healing.
“A warrior wants to go into battle and fight until the battle is won, but a wise warrior knows that there are times when in order to progress, you must stand still.”
